Senior Specialist Lead – Leading to Change
18.75 hours per week
Fixed Term/Secondment until 31st March 2024

Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
What you'll do
Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;
Leading the strategic research, design and development of equalities interventions that focus on leadership and culture change and support the delivery of the Leading to Change Equalities Action Plan. This will include, but not be limited to an approach to Allyship and diversity leadership at all levels.
Working collaboratively with Principal Lead, Specialist Lead and other partners such as Scottish Government in co-designing interventions and developing approaches to support behaviour change at individual, team and system level.
Skillfully engaging and gaining buy in from stakeholders throughout the system, particularly at senior and executive level leaders throughout the health and care system.
Acting as a subject matter expert in equalities interventions at a system level in areas such as allyship and diversity leadership with focus on race and ethnicity.
Contributing to programme management by providing briefings, activity reports and by monitoring project/programme spend
What you'll bring
These will include but are not restricted to;
You will have significant experience of translating contemporary best practice in equality, diversity and inclusion into tangible syste approaches
You will understand and be able to apply contemporary theories of leadership development, for example systems leadership, collective and compassionate leadership
You’ll be able to facilitate learning for others through live work, for example via Action Learning Sets, Team Coaching, Peer Thinking Groups
You’ll have the knowledge and skills to evaluate and assess the impact of learning and development products
You’ll have a good understanding of the health, social work and social care system in Scotland and have a proven ability to navigate multiple complex stakeholder relationships while gaining buy in to new approaches
You will be able to communicate sensitive and complex information face-to-face and in writing
You will have strong project management skills
