Salary: AFC Band 6 £35,522 - £43,286 plus £1,494.43 High Secure Environmental Allowance and £3,586.78 High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours), permanent.
Post details: An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapists at The State Hospital, which is a purpose built hospital located in rural Lanarkshire. We are commutable from most major towns and cities and offer great facilities, support and CPD opportunities.
Whilst utilising specialist Occupational Therapy skills, you will be responsible for providing evidence based assessment, treatment planning and intervention to a defined caseload of patients with highly complex mental health conditions and/or Intellectual Disabilities and associated challenging behaviours within a High Secure hospital.
Post 1: Hub/Ward Based Occupational Therapy Service
You will be responsible for providing innovative leadership and clinical supervision within the Occupational Therapy team, inclusive of Occupational Therapy students attending the hospital on practice education placements. You will ensure effective liaison and communication between the Occupational Therapy team, wider multi-disciplinary team, including security.
You will contribute an innovative and progressive attitude towards patient care, taking the lead in research and audit projects. You will be responsible for representing the Occupational Therapy/AHP team within hospital based work steams as well as being committed to your own ongoing personal and professional development.
Post 2: Skye Centre Activity Service
The Skye Centre provides a high quality service that is individually focused and consists of a range of therapeutic, recreational, social, vocational, educational and physical health services for patients.
You will be responsible for providing innovative leadership and clinical supervision within the Skye Centre team, inclusive of Occupational Therapy students attending the hospital on practice education placements. You will be part of our wider team of registered mental health nurses, technical staff and support staff. Professional links will be maintained with the dedicated Occupational Therapy Service forming part of a larger Allied Health Profession Team. You will ensure effective liaison and communication between the Skye Centre Team and the wider multi-disciplinary team, including security.
You will contribute an innovative and progressive attitude towards patient care, taking the lead in research and audit projects. You will be responsible for representing the Skye Centre team within hospital based work steams as well as being committed to your own ongoing personal and professional development.
Experience: You must have a BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) with relevant post registration clinical experience. You will be motivated and committed to work with patients with a mental health diagnosis and/or Intellectual Disability within secure care. You will also have clinical experience within a mental health or Social Care setting. You will have current HCPC registration.
