35 hours per week – Full time, Fixed term for 12 months (Secondment opportunity)
An opportunity has arisen for post of Senior Practitioner (Secondment) to join the Social Work Transitions Team. This Fixed Term, full time position of 35 hrs per week, will enable the right candidate the opportunity to be responsible for supporting the delivery of Social Work Services for 18 -25 year olds who have support needs.
The Post holder will provide professional leadership as delegated by the Team Manager to Joint Transitions Team covering the area of South and Mid. The Successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to safe and effective social work practice including overseeing relevant statutory duties are fulfilled, as delegated by the Chief Social Work Officer. Such duties should be undertaken while enhancing the supported person’s experience of care and statutory support
You should be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the ‘Social Worker’ part of the Register and hold an appropriate qualification that is recognised by the SSSC. In terms of working with a small complex caseload you would be responsible for working alongside colleagues and clinicians to assess the needs of young people and liaise with families, the independent sector and support providers, to ensure care and support is appropriately arranged. In addition the candidate should have a good understanding of the principles of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and a knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection and Self Directed Support legislation.
