Minimum required: NMC registered nurse/midwife with minimum of 2 years neonatal experience including experience supporting mums and babies with infant feeding.  Evidence of clinical competence in infant feeding (UNICEF breastfeeding and relationship building or equivalent)  Desirable: experience of UNICEF UK BFI audit, staff education with appropriate qualification (Train the trainer course) 

Key duties:

To provide education and support to staff and families across GGC within PRM, RHC and RAH neonatal units on all aspects of infant feeding.

To assist with the maintenance and ongoing progression of UNICEF UK BFI accreditation including working towards achieving sustainability.

Ensure practice is evidence based and always reflects BFI standards.

To support a culture that values breastfeeding and enables families to develop close and loving relationships with their baby. 

The service and department:

Opportunity to join a new team to enhance current support for infant feeding within the neonatal units in GGC.  There are three neonatal units in Glasgow caring for about 2000 babies/year including babies with complex medical and surgical issues. The post would be based in one of the three neonatal units however this may change depending on the needs of the service.​​​​​​​
