An exciting career development opportunity has arisen within the Aberdeenshire Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service for an enthusiastic person to join our committed team in providing support and psychological recovery focused interventions to our service users. As a Senior Health Care Support worker, Band 3, you will be required to support the Kessock Clinic Substance Misuse Fraserburgh Core Team and also The ARIES outreach service that covers North Aberdeenshire. ARIES aims to support individuals who have experienced a non-fatal overdose (NFOD) or at high risk of overdose, who may, or may not, be known to any current services
In addition you will be required will to support nurses and a multi-agency team in the development and running of Locality Access Points from which a full range of services will be delivered, with the aims of: -
• Reduced waiting times for people coming into service.
• Increased uptake of alcohol and drug support
• Reduced numbers of unplanned discharges.
• Increased number of planned discharges.
• Day One support for all aspects of treatment and practical help required to aid recovery
• Increased partnership working and exit routes including GP and Mental Health where appropriate
• People being maintained for an increased time in most appropriate services
The successful candidate will be required to work in partnership with other providers and agencies within Aberdeenshire to deliver recovery orientated community drug/alcohol treatment to clients recovering from addiction.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and team working skills, have direct experience of working in this field, or similar, and ready to provide a high standard of care when addressing substance use issues.
