The Opportunity          

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is currently recruiting Band 5 Adult Staff Nurses for a number posts within L South Ward  at Inverclyde Royal Hospital  which opened early 2023  . Candidates selected will be initially assigned to our 2023 additional support Nursing team.

The L South ward  is one of several new wards  across Greater Glasgow and Clyde  opened recently to support surge capacity   planning over 2023 

  • Please Note You will have the opportunity after the initial assignment period  to rotate into a substantive/permanent post in your preferred medical specialty within Inverclyde Royal Hospital or the Royal Alexandra Hospital So whatever your preference there is a vacancy with your name on it! 

We are offering a number of posts with start dates for successful candidates, scheduled over April  2023.   

The Role

 The scope of work is focused on receiving patients from other acute care pathways across Inverclyde Royal  Hospital and who require ongoing or further specialist care and to support their discharge planning.

Spending a period of time in the L South Ward will give you an opportunity to come on board and further develop your acute nursing skills by working with our experienced, skilled and knowledgeable team. The variety and scope of care to meet the needs of a diverse range of patients in their care journey can be extremely rewarding.

We are seeking applications from experienced registered staff nurses who place a value on multi - professional team working to ensure a high standard of care for patients, are enthusiastic and can demonstrate excellent clinical skills, good critical reasoning skills with an adaptable and positive attitude. An interest in developing skills or bringing existing experience is encouraged.   

In return you will be provided with mentorship and coaching, we strongly value and support our staff wellbeing and development.

The vacancies will suit candidates looking for full or  part-time time hours (Min 24 hours per week).

The full time shift pattern is 12 hour shifts / rotational day & night duty Monday to Sunday (pro rata part-time)

We can also offer successful candidates an opportunity to access additional shifts via a fast track route to join our Nursing and Midwifery Staff Bank.
