About the Organisation:
Public Health Scotland is a new organisation, set up to improve the lives of people in Scotland, to reduce health inequalities that persist in many of our communities. It’s an exciting time to join the organisation, with PHS at the forefront of Scotland’s efforts to tackle Coronavirus and its implications across society.
The Post / Candidate:
This key role will position Public Health Scotland at the centre of Scotland’s world-class public health system, delivering our mission to prevent disease, prolong healthy life and promote health and wellbeing.
The new permanent post will provide leadership for national communication and campaign activity that will impact all citizens in Scotland, the successful candidate will be responsible for
- developing our strategic communications and marketing plans
- creating a new integrated communications and marketing function
- communications and marketing activity to deliver public health priorities and manage any national incidents
- maximising the impact of Public Health Scotland’s work
The post holder should be a strategic collaborator with excellent influencing skills and substantial communications and media experience.
Location and Working Pattern:
This role is based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Meridian Court, Glasgow.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. There is an expectation that you will work evenings and weekends as part of an on-call rota.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
