An opportunity has arisen to work within the Board’s automated Pharmacy Distribution Centre (PDC). The post will be based within the Purchasing/ Homecare environment of the PDC to assist in the management and facilitation of Homecare Services for NHSGG&C and ensure the effective and timely processing and purchasing from relevant suppliers and services.
Duties will include supporting senior team in the management of supply issues, making calls to suppliers, maintaining documentation, e-filing, communication around supply of pharmaceutical products and updating supply spreadsheets.
Ensuring the effective and timely processing and purchasing of all requests for medicines from all relevant suppliers and services, management of ongoing daily supply issues and challenges, monitor, chase and update PDC/ Site staff and stakeholders on the impact/management and update and resolve in line
with the Boards Shortage policy.
For the Home Delivery Service duties will include patient registration, prescriptions, renewals, orders, receipts, invoices and discrepancies.
The successful candidate will have excellent computer, organisational and communication skills along with a minimum of two years experience in the field of purchasing and supplies and/or use of IT systems within a large multi-discipline environment. Experience working in a Pharmacy or similar environment and relevant SVQ qualifications is desirable.
Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
A general education, basic numeric and literacy skills demonstrated by Standard Grade qualifications or equivalent, as well as good communication and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
This is a part time post, 18.75 hours per week, 9am until 12.45pm, 5/7 whole week working, includes participation in the public holiday rotas.
