We are excited to advertise this rare opportunity for an exceptional leader who shares our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
We are seeking someone who will provide dynamic and inclusive leadership of the Scottish Ambulance Service to deliver its 2030 strategic aims of saving more lives, reducing inequalities and improving health & wellbeing. The Chief Executive is a key national leader across health and care services, emergency services and local and national government, tasked with transforming services to deliver Scotland’s National Outcomes.
With partners you will reform emergency and urgent care throughout Scotland, developing sustainable workforce models underpinned by digital solutions to achieve a seamless person-centred service.
You will have relevant, demonstrable experience and a track record of success and innovative working in large and complex organisations. You will be able to evidence excellent strategic leadership that embraces a values-based approach in all aspects of your work. You will be an excellent communicator able to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, have credibility with our teams and proven ability to create alliances and further increase partnership collaboration.
The Scottish Ambulance Service covers a population of circa 5.5 million people in Scotland and is the largest geographical area of any ambulance service in Europe. Based in 150 locations throughout Scotland, the Service employs over 6,500 staff assisted by 1,000 Community First Responder volunteers. In addition to emergency, urgent and primary care, the Service provides patient transport services for patients who require assistance travelling to and from healthcare facilities.
