Band 6 Psychosexual Therapist providing specialist sexual and reproductive health care in a world class, fully integrated NHS Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service.
15 hours per week (0.40WTE) negotiable working pattern between Monday to Friday.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced psychosexual therapist to work with our psychosexual services within Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS). The fully integrated service is composed of Chalmers Centre and 10 local clinics, which includes a psychosexual therapy service. LSRHS provides Tier 4 and 5 specialist sexual health services working across 4 Community Health and Social Care Partnerships meeting the needs of 80,000 patient attendances per annum.
The post holder would deliver direct patient care through face to face and virtual consultations. They would be expected to participate in the care of people requiring a variety of sexual health issues in a non-judgemental and empathetic manner.
Essential Criteria for the job include:
Psychosexual Therapy qualification from a COSRT accredited course or a healthcare qualification with experience working with sexual dysfunctions, plus a psychotherapy qualification. We would also consider candidates who are working towards an appropriate qualification.
Evidence of a non-judgemental person centred approach, ability to use initiative and work independently; effective communication skills; highly developed clinical consultation skills; flexibility and willingness to work across all areas of the LSRHS, and to deliver care in a range of different ways (e.g. via telephone or video consultations); ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
Desirable criteria include: evidence of team work and leadership; experience of line management or leading a team; experience of analysing data and report writing.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
