To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic person to lead our Audiology Service in Highland.

The department provides a range of services including routine and complex adult and paediatric assessment and hearing aid fittings, audio-vestibular assessment and tinnitus services.

The postholder will be responsible for the operational and strategic leadership of the service and its team, ensuring the delivery of activity, financial and staff performance targets and quality standards. This will include budget and staff management, as well as business planning.

The applicant should have a minimum of an MSc in Audiology (or equivalent) and state registration with the RCCP or HCPC, together with relevant experience in advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative techniques, clinical supervision and line management. They should also have at least ten years of audiology experience.

Raigmore Hospital is a modern District General Hospital of approximately 454 beds with extensive training responsibilities for both undergraduates and postgraduates and serving a very wide geographical area. It is one of the 5 Cancer Centres in Scotland and has clinical facilities comparable with most University Teaching Hospitals with expanding research support and opportunities.

There is a well-organised and well-established Audiological service within the Highlands supplying clinical services to both the central population around Inverness and also the more remote and rural parts of the Highlands and Western Isles. There are well-developed adult and paediatric services plus remote and rural visits and balance/tinnitus services.

The region is one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, providing good local amenities coupled with a plethora of outdoor pursuits within very easy reach. Tourism, particularly in the spring and summer months, ensures that the Highlands are well supplied with social amenities, plus excellent schools and a good work-life balance ensures that the region is a great place for family life.
