The Manual Handling Service supports safer moving and handling practice across NHS Fife and makes a real difference to the quality, safety and experience of patients and staff. You will work with the Manual Handling Team Leader to provide co-ordination of training and support to staff in Moving and Handling across NHS Fife.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about Manual Handling to join our Health and Safety Team. You will manage 2 x Moving and Handling trainers and promote safe manual handling practice across NHS Fife contributing to the reduction of risk of musculoskeletal injuries in line with relevant regulations and legislation and NHS Fife Moving and Handling Procedures.  Along with the Manual Handling Team Leader, you will be responsible in helping with the day to day running of the Manual Handling training department.  This entails scheduling courses and workshops, communicating with Trainers and Managers, monitoring and contributing to development to ensure the effective delivery of Manual Handling education to staff.

You will need to be highly organised, able to work without direct supervision, and be an excellent communicator, with the ability to support the team in the day to day operation of the services they provide.

Ideally you will have experience of delivering care in a health / social care setting and have had experience in teaching Moving and Handling or experience / qualification in Teaching and Learning.  Good communication and presentation skills are essential and a working knowledge of IT including word processing, databases and presentation software an advantage.

Everyone invited to interview will be required to deliver a short practical demonstration of moving and handling activity as part of the selection process.
