We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join our developing service. You will have opportunity to expand and develop your knowledge and skills for a range of adult acquired communication and swallowing difficulties with an emphasis on intensive in patient neuro rehabilitation.
This post will provide swallowing and communication assessment and rehabilitation to individuals who present with stroke and other neurological conditions within Royal Victoria Hospital. The post holder will also support and supervise junior staff members and work closely with CSWs with the inpatient case load. MDT working is also key within this setting. The pathway for stroke patient in Tayside is currently under development and there will be close liaison with the community SLT team for in reach and outreach to ensure smooth and timely transitions from hospital to home
The post holder will contribute to/ run training sessions for staff and be involved in SLT and medical student training.
You will join a supportive team of experienced therapists at Royal Victoria Hospital and be part of the wider Tayside service. You will work closely with our AHP colleagues within our developing stroke service. Professional development is supported and encouraged through our clinical supervision, appraisal structure and regular team meetings.
You must be HCPC registered.
