Part Time –30 hours per week
Both posts - Band 6 Salary Range £30,401 - £38,046 per annum pro rata
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,841 per annum (pro rata for part-time and fixed term positions)
NHS Shetland IT and eHealth department is looking for two individuals to lead on the delivery of technologies in NHS Shetland as part of its wide-ranging transformation programme.
Applications are invited from individuals with experience in primary care healthcare provision, or proven project management experience, or a background in delivering digital transformation in the public sector. Applicants will be driven to use their knowledge and skills to support colleagues make use of new and developing IT initiatives.
If you have an interest in eHealth and an ability to see different ways of working then eHealth is looking for you to make a difference.
This is an exciting time as NHS Shetland has recently launched the Health and Social Care Portal, which provides clinicians across the North of Scotland access to an integrated digital view of a patient's health and social care data through a new web-based portal presenting clinical data.
Additionally, NHS Shetland is focused on implementation of new systems for patient management, integration of technology across the public sector in Shetland and with other North of Scotland Health Boards, and implementation of electronic prescribing and ordering of diagnostic tests. Success of this programme is a significant step towards all-encompassing electronic health and social care processes.
These new posts have been created to provide support and facilitation to staff in the use of this new technology. Each post has a different focus, but both will have the opportunity to work wider to deliver digital solutions to healthcare delivery.
Primary Care – This post will focus on the introduction of digital services such as online appointment booking.
Attend Anywhere – This post will focus on facilitating access to healthcare closer to patients’ home setting using virtual appointments and telehealth technologies.
This is an exciting opportunity to be instrumental in the move towards a paperless working environment for NHS Shetland, making effective use of technology to support the care and treatment of patients.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who may wish to undertake various hours within those available across the two posts. Additionally, there is opportunity within the two roles to agree working patterns, and work location on a flexible basis.
