University Hospital Monklands is looking for enthusiastic pharmacy technicians or student technicians to join our pharmacy team! The successful candidates will provide pharmaceutical technical services on a rotational basis between within dispensary, clinical and our aseptic unit.
We are looking for candidates who consistently demonstrates professional behaviours and the core values of NHS Lanarkshire; respect, fairness, quality and working together. It is an exciting time at University Hospital Monklands with a new modern aseptic pharmacy unit, introduction of Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) and developing future plans for the replacement of the current hospital site.
We welcome both qualified applicants and those looking to train to be a Pharmacy Technician.
To apply for this exciting position as a student you must have a minimum qualification of:
National 5 grades in Biology, Chemistry, English and Mathematics
Or
NC Applied Sciences (Must be Chemistry and Biology based)

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective Communication and interpersonal Skills
• The ability to establish and maintain relationships in a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to adapt to changing service needs and meet tight deadlines
The salary for a Band 4 is (£25,914 - £28,187) or, if appointed as a Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician, the salary will be 70% of the top of the band in year 1 and 75% in year 2 under Agenda for Change Annex 21 rules.
