NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a highly motivated Learning and Organisational Development Manager to join our team. In this role you will support the Head of Organisational Development to design, develop and implement initiatives to ensure our staff feel valued, motivated, and supported in their careers.
You will lead a small team of Organisational Development and learning staff who will help to deliver initiatives in support of our organisational strategy. You will manage and oversee the delivery of innovative approaches to learning, development and education for our staff. The role is varied and requires flexibility to respond to changing needs of the organisation from writing reports to promoting our organisational values or commissioning external training – the scope of the role is both interesting and varied.
We are seeking an individual with a background of line managing a team specifically within an Organisational Development or Learning and Development environment.
The following knowledge, training and/ore experience is required:
- Educated to Masters level and /or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Professional qualifications appropriate to post e.g. member of CIPD, accredited in psychometric tools, qualified coach.
- Excellent communication skills with highly developed written communication skills and evidence of problem solving/solution finding traits.
- Ability to manage conflict resolution.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complexities, culture; policies and structure of the health and social care environment.
- High level of interpersonal, strategic and technical skills combined with a supportive and visible leadership style.
- Advanced listening skills to interpret difficult and challenging messaging regarding people and persuading people to change practice.
- Demonstrate advanced practice skills and contemporary knowledge of organisational / leadership development and learning theories and how these apply in practice.
- Evidence of leadership and management skills.
- Understanding of and experience of working in a large, complex, multi-site organisation.
- Be able to evidence excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
- Be able to demonstrate strong planning and organisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure, balancing priorities and working to set timescales.
- Have a strong customer focus and a positive can do attitude.
- Good PC skills - ability to use Microsoft software to a high standard.
The postholder must be a car driver able to travel and work in various locations across Lanarkshire and occasionally beyond.
