The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday 0900-1700.
The Highly Specialised Practitioner in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a key member of the multidisciplinary psychotherapy team and would be expected to provide clinical leadership for their professional discipline within the team and support psychodynamic psychotherapy developments in the sector and within GG&C.
The Psychotherapy Team is highly specialist, providing the psychodynamic input to the North West Glasgow Mental Health Services. In order to fulfil these duties the post holder will require to have had extensive general clinical experience, training and experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy and training and clinical experience in the provision of Mentalization Based Therapy.
The patient group is generally complex disorders either by duration, resistance to treatment or symptom constellation. Patients treated in the service most frequently have depressive conditions, personality disorders, post-traumatic/adjustment disorders and those with multiple neurotic and somatic conditions. They will be significantly more disturbed than those treated in the primary care setting and often have had previous treatments including in-patient admission. The treatment model is that of psychodynamic
psychotherapy.
