Shift Porter (Facilities Assistant)

Band 2 £21,814 - £23,820 plus £1,494.43 High Secure Environmental Allowance per annum (pro rata)

32.25 Hours per week 7 days on 7 days off basis



Post Details – A vacancy has arisen for a Porter; you will be part of a team of four Porters who deliver a high quality portering service within all wards and departments in the State Hospital.

Duties will include making deliveries and uplifts within the hospital.  This will involve driving hospital vehicles, the post holder will have the responsibility of the upkeep of the vehicles used in the department. There will be a considerable amount of internal communication with staff from all areas of the hospital. Portering duties will involve heavy manual work. 


Experience - Applicants should hold a full current clean driving license.  Previous knowledge of moving and handling techniques would be an advantage, as would the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Candidates should be conscientious, have good communications skill and be able to use own initiative.
