Role 1: MIST Team - Clinical and Protecting Health Directorate:

The Clinical Protecting Health Directorate are seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer for the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Implementation Support Team (MIST). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a national team working to help reduce drug related deaths in Scotland.

You will be a member of an innovative multiagency team working directly with local partners in 26 Alcohol and Drug Partnerships to support the implementation and evaluation of an improvement approach with substance use services. The aim is to increase access, choice and quality of care for medication assisted treatment – as set out in the MAT Standards.

Role 2: Business Operations Team - Strategy, Governance and Performance Directorate:

The Business Operations Team are seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to support the delivery of the Future Workplaces Programme.  This role provides an opportunity to contribute to a change programme that aims to transition the PHS estate towards net zero carbon emissions and provide our staff with an improved work environment, suitable for new ways of working.   You will be responsible for providing a full range of project support services to the programme, that includes supporting all aspects of the relocation from our existing office in Glasgow and establishment of a new office location.

The candidate:

You will work across the relevant programme collaborating with colleagues both internal and external. 

You will have experience of supporting the organisation and administration of projects, programmes and business as usual.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in either office administration or a related subject; or with equivalent experience gained in a busy office environment.

An ability to operate and engaging effectively across a diverse stakeholder base is prerequisite for each role.  As is an ability to demonstrate PHS values.

Location and working pattern:

Each post is a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment opportunity till end of March 2024 and will be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. PHS operate a hybrid working model with a mixture of working at home and days in the office each week.  

There will be an expectation to travel to local areas for some meetings and events.   

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.

This is a full time post at 37.5 hours per week.

During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.

Salary placement will start at the bottom point of the scale unless individuals have previous NHS experience.
