This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. Duties & responsibilities:
To provide clinical leadership for the SLT service to adults with a neurological condition across NHS Lothian.
To provide highly specialist assessment, differential diagnosis, interpretation and management of communication and/or eating, drinking swallowing needs including expert advice at a tertiary regional level
To be responsible for the service standards and practice within the specialist clinical area.
To ensure dissemination of appropriate training and supervision in specialist area.
To initiate, lead on and undertake clinical research initiatives, quality improvement projects and audit within the specialist field.
Key requirements:
A qualified SLT with clinical experience in Adult Acquired Neurology and Stroke and proven leadership experience
SLT degree qualification, MSc relevant to specialist field or equivalent and HCPC registration are essential for this post
Evidence of significant post registration professional practice experience to undertake and fulfill the key areas for this post
