We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated Ophthalmology Assistants for the new Ophthalmology Outpatients Department, National Treatment Centre-Highland.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the multidisciplinary team, you will be required to
assist registered nurses, orthoptists, medical staff and optometrists in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care, with and without direct supervision, appropriately ensuring effective use of available resources and knowledge.
Ideally you would already be working in a health care or an ophthalmology setting with experience of measuring visual acuity, focimetery, visual fields and OCT/ophthalmic imaging.
While this experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be given.
The successful candidates will have to work effectively and flexibly in a pressurised clinical environment.
The department is open: Monday to Friday 08:00-18.00. We are also open for Casualty Clinics at weekends and public holidays whereby you may be expected to work 1 or 2 weekend shifts a month.
