The shift pattern for this post is rotational shift pattern (days and nights) is predominantly long day’s 0730-2015 or 2015-0730, 7 days per fortnight. Some flexibility would be expected to meet the needs of the service.
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced RMN/RNLD to join us as a Staff Nurse.
The Directorate of Forensic Mental Health provides inpatient care in both medium and low secure settings. The service provides a safe, secure and therapeutic environment for patients with a focus on risk assessment and reduction, rehabilitation and discharge planning for the return to the community.
In line with the philosophy of the Forensic Directorate the post holder will be responsible for the provision of specialist nursing care and treatment for individuals who have a mental disorder or learning disability who have demonstrated serious offending behavior or present a significant risk to themselves or others. The post holder as part of the multi-disciplinary team, will provide care through a progressive patient focused approach., within a safe and secure environment which is under pinned by formal risk assessment and risk management that will maximize the individuals rehabilitation potential.
The post holder will also ensure that they maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and carers to ensure that care needs are identified and met within a participative framework that recognizes the principles of equality, dignity, respect and which takes into account spiritual diversity.
