The Post and Candidate: 
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services.  Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

SNBTS will be introducing a new programme of donor testing to enhance blood safety.

Working within the New Developments section of SNBTS Manufacturing, an opportunity has arisen for the post of Technical Support Officer to assist the implementation and running of the programme. SNBTS must implement the this within a challenging timeframe and within budget, whilst delivering a high quality service. 

Applicants for this Post should hold a Degree preferably in a Clinical or a Life Sciences subject with evidence of post-graduate work experience, or equivalent in a relevant discipline. 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and Working Pattern:
The post is based in the Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh although there will be some opportunity to work remotely. 

Work pattern: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
