Job Advert
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children and Young People’s Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) service in East Fife due to changes within our current staffing.
The SLT service is professionally managed within the Integrated Primary and Preventative Care Services division of the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The post will be based in Adamson Hospital in Cupar and be part of the North East Fife geographical cluster of SLTs.
You will work with children, young people, their families/carers and other professionals to develop and implement personal outcome focused intervention. The caseload will be largely children and young people with complex speech and language difficulties and/or eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties so a recognised qualification in dysphagia management would be an advantage. This post offers an opportunity to develop skills in the management of children with long lasting difficulties and make links with other Fife SLTs working in ASN provisions and those working in the Neurodevelopmental Team, CAMHS and the Learning Disability Service.
You will also form close working relationships with the cluster’s Lead Clinician, e.g. supporting individual therapists within the cluster to support children living with complex, lifelong conditions in mainstream settings.
We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who would relish working with colleagues to support the ongoing development of a service which is responsive to national drivers and local needs. Fife is a forward-thinking service with a well-developed peer facilitation / supervision model and a strong commitment to staff wellbeing and development.
For informal enquiries, please contact Roma More, Operational Lead, East Fife CYP SLT Service, roma.more@nhs.scot.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
