Are you looking to expand into a new clinical area or enhance your pain management skills, be part of a dynamic pain pharmacy and multidisciplinary team and have the skills to contribute to driving forward a system wide change in the use of High Risk Pain Medicines (HRPM) and case load management of complex pain patients?  If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you as a member of our highly specialized pharmacy pain team.

As part of the integrated pharmacy service, providing pharmaceutical care through the multidisciplinary Fife Pain Management Service, you will ensure that patients get a full holistic assessment, review and management of their prescribed medicines. You will have a key role in working with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide supported self-management, liaising with acute based and primary care based services which will include the acute pharmacy team, primary care pharmacy team and community pharmacy colleagues. You will possess excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills and have the ability to take forward service development, redesign and change management.

You will be involved in education and training of other professionals and patients and be expected to provide support and deputise for lead/other senior pharmacists and undertake supervision of less experienced pharmacists, technicians and students. You should have a sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to high standards of pharmaceutical care. It would be desirable though not essential to have previous experience of working within a pain management environment.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practicing register of the General Pharmaceutical Council and annotated as an independent prescriber or be willing to work towards this within a given timeframe. You will have demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience and will have completed a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or be able to demonstrate that you have equivalent experience.
