Further background.

The Baird Family Hospital and the ANCHOR Centre project with a capital budget of £245 million, is currently the largest NHS capital project under construction in Scotland. This exciting project will result in two new buildings being opened on the Foresterhill Health Campus during 2023 and 2024 and thereafter the demolition of the existing Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The Baird Family Hospital will replace the existing Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and also integrate other services such as breast screening, breast surgery and gynaecology services in to a single “Family” Hospital. The ANCHOR Centre will provide a centre for out-patient and day-patient oncology and haematology services adjacent to the existing Radiotherapy building providing “one stop” services for those suffering from cancer and blood disorders. Both buildings will include research and teaching facilities and both will offer a person-centred environment of care.

Further information on the current status of the project is available at the following link https://www.bairdanchor.org/
