The shift pattern for this position is Mon – Fri, 0900-1700 hrs.

This posts forms part of the SCS business support team and provides comprehensive secretarial and business administrative support to Specialist Children’s Services Community Speech & Language Therapy and Specialist Community Paediatric Teams.  The post-holders will contribute significantly to achievement of the roles of the area through efficient provision of a variety of secretarial and administrative duties.  The post-holders will work independently for much of the time and demonstrates a clear understanding of the service.  The post involves dealing with referrals to the service timeously, managing calls/enquiries, emails, audio typing, data input, record management, use of electronic patient system, continual prioritization of workload and the ability to be an effective team player.

Post-holder must be able to demonstrate competency in the use of range of computer packages evidenced by experience or formal qualification e.g. ECDL and have a recognized qualification in Administration equivalent to HNC in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration, or SVQ in Administration at Level 3, or significant relevant equivalent practical experience. Post-holders should have a good knowledge of office procedures and systems and able to demonstrate prior experience of working in a secretarial or administrative role.

The post-holder work independently for much of the time managing calls, emails, rotas, patient appointments and diary time on behalf of the multi-disciplinary team.  The post-holder will be required to deal with referrals and enquires through a single of point of access and also support the generic functions and duties administered within the wider business support section as required.
