DEPARTMENT CLINICAL PHYSICS & BIO ENGINEERING

Nuclear Medicine – GGH

  Advanced Specialist Practitioner Clinical Technologist/Radiographer

Band 7

Post Ref:138760

The shift pattern for this position is currently 7.5 hours between 8:00 and 17:00 (start times 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00) Mon – Fri, future shifts may be between 8:00 and 18:00 or 20:00.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine technologist / radiographer with significant experience in Nuclear Medicine working as part of a small team to take a lead role in the Molecular Radiotherapy service at Gartnavel General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity which comes at time of rapid development of Molecular Radiotherapy and the post holder will have an opportunity to shape the delivery of these services not just in Glasgow but across Scotland.

The service currently has 4 dedicated in-patient treatment rooms and an out-patient treatment suite delivering I-131, I-131 MIBG, Lu-177 Dotatate, Ra-223 and Y-90 SIRT therapies among others. We are developing plans to create a day-bed suite to support the probable expansion of the MRT service to include Lu-177 PSMA and other immanent MRT therapies. We are also actively involved in trials both for new MRT therapies and for new indications. We are expanding our expertise in MRT dosimetry and it is hoped that the post holder will be involved in this.

Nuclear Medicine on the Gartnavel Campus provides the West of Scotland PETCT service (2 PETCT scanners) and a local SPECT / SPECTCT service which supports imaging for MRT. The post holder will deputise for the service managers in one or both of these areas and is expected to maintain their imaging competencies.

Glasgow is a friendly, thriving and active city which offers something for everyone.

You will be a registered clinical technologist or radiographer with a degree in Medical Technology, Radiology or a Physical Science (or equivalent) and extensive experience in Nuclear Medicine with, preferably, some experience in Molecular Radiotherapy.
