Healthy Weight Support Worker

Band 3 £23,914 - £25,808 pro rata

Plus, £1,201 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

18.75 hours per week – 2 posts

Fixed term until 31 March 2025


NHS Western Isles Nutrition and Dietetic Department have 2 vacancies for Healthy Weight Support Workers that are ideal for anyone who would like to help empower people across the Western Isles to make sustained lifestyle change and improve their health. 


You will be delivering both group and one to one weight managment programmes to adults, focussing on healthy eating and behavioural change to help them achieve their weight loss goals. 


 You will also deliver the HENRY healthy family programmes and workshops to help support families develop healthy habits from a young age and deliver some general healthy eating sessions to the public as required.  Full training will be provided and you will receive ongoing support from the Registered Dietitians on the team.


You must be able to travel across the islands and work some evening and Saturday hours.     


We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, with good interpersonal skills and keen to work as part of our team.  You should be educated to SVQ level in a health related subject.
