2 Consultant Rheumatologists – one as Clinical Lead

An opportunity has arisen for 2 Consultant Rheumatologist posts, one as Clinical Lead, to join the dynamic Fife Rheumatic Diseases Unit (FRDU).
As Consultants of the FRDU team you will contribute to the clinical leadership and strategic direction to the future delivery of care. You will help provide a rheumatology service for Central, West and North-East Fife. The FRDU has 4 Consultants and a Clinical Fellow, as well as a large multi-disciplinary team comprising Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Specialist Nurses, Phamacist and a Psychologist. The whole team is based together at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital which is directly across the road from the Victoria Hospital, a large District General Hospital providing all Acute services and interventions.
The FRDU provides a holistic service focusing on early and intensive intervention for patients with Inflammatory Arthritis. There are also specialist services for connective tissue diseases, inflammatory spinal disease, and vasculitis. There is a clinic for Adolescent patients transitioning to adult Rheumatology. We have a weekly virtual clinic to discuss complex patients who may need biological therapies. Day Unit facilities are at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. There are close links with all Acute services within Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals.
Experience in Rheumatological ultrasound is considered desirable.
