An opportunity has arisen for a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the Borders Emergency Care Service, based at the BGH but providing care for patients in the hub and in the community. We are developing our service in line with the Government guidance on reshaping urgent care and our work covers the Out of Hours GP service and Urgent Care.  You will be involved in triaging, assessing and delivering care.  The successful candidate would be required to undertake Exposure Prone procedures.


Significant post registration experience required which should include experience in an acute environment and/or experience in the community. As part of the team you will provide central core knowledge, skills and competencies, supporting a range of clinical activities essential to the care of patients in a GP setting as well as community hospitals, care homes, and patients in their own homes in the Scottish Borders.  You will be an experienced clinical practitioner who will provide leadership, clinical support and advice to nursing and junior medical staff acting as the first point of contact for wards seeking clinical advice and assistance.   It is essential you are a Registered Adult Nurse with substantial post registration experience at a senior level.   Independent prescribing would be advantageous. 


Post is Band 6 rising to Band 7 on completion of training.
