Senior Staff Nurse

Community Liaison Team

37.5hrs per week

The Neonatal Unit within Royal Alexandra Maternity Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the team in the role of community liaison nurse.  The unit at the RAH has 16 cots: 3 intensive care, 3 high dependency and 10 special care. The Community Liaison role is an essential and pivotal in facilitating safe and timely discharge from the neonatal unit. The post holder will work closely with the team within acute and community setting and with the family to facilitate the successful transition from hospital to home.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on discharge planning ensuring we build confident families who are prepared for discharge to home.  You will be responsible for the assessment and provision of the highest quality medical and surgical care to neonates and their parents in the transition from hospital to the community setting.                                                                                                                                    

You must be an experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with a qualification in neonatal specialty. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to organise and prioritise workload are essential.
