Consultant Orthodontist ​​​​​​​

An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Orthodontist to join the NHS Lanarkshire Orthodontic team. Our service aims to deliver high quality orthodontic care in a patient centered environment for complex and multidisciplinary cases. There is excellent nursing and technical support from our onsite Maxillofacial laboratories and opportunities to be involved in training. Applicants should be able to demonstrate exemplary communication skills. 

NHS Lanarkshire is Scotland’s third largest health board and has 3 Acute Hospitals – University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Monklands.  All services are currently working to design and realise new models of care for the replacement University Hospital Monklands which will be Scotland’s flagship digital hospital.

Applicants should be on the GDC Specialist List for Orthodontics and have undertaken an accredited 2 year Post-CCST training pathway, possessing both the Membership in Orthodontics and either hold or be within six months of obtaining the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Orthodontics. ​​​​​​​

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis (including up to 2 non-DCC) but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.
