A permanent vacancy has arisen for a Specialist Clinical Psychologist to work in the Core Child & Adolescent Psychology Service, in Dumfries & Galloway. The Core Child & Adolescent Psychology Service works with children and young people presenting with moderate-severe mental health difficulties. The Service also works with parents/carers and families around behaviour-based and attachment-based parenting. Additional training is offered in models such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), CBT for Eating Disorders, Trauma-Focused CBT and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). The role will focus on the delivery of specialist psychological therapy, training, consultation, supervision and service development, and offers excellent opportunity for the development of management and leadership skills.

Alongside the Core Child Psychology Service there are additional Child specialities; including Medical Paediatrics, Infant Mental Health, Neuro-developmental Liaison Service, Neuro Psychology Service and The Care Experienced Team. The successful applicant could have dedicated time to develop more specialist interests as part of their on-going professional development.  Applications are invited from enthusiastic and energetic individuals who want to play key roles in supporting the on-going development of the Child & Adolescent Psychology Service. 

The wider Psychology Department works across the lifespan and now has a complement of around 90 staff. The Psychology Department is a friendly, supportive and lively place of work.  We currently have strong links with Edinburgh and Stirling/Dundee Universities and take trainees from the Edinburgh Doctoral course and from the MSc course in Stirling/Dundee. We also provide placements and supervision for trainee CBT and other psychological therapists.

Remote working arrangement is offered for these posts.
