An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist

We are looking for an innovative and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our service providing urgent community based intervention supporting hospital discharges from acute services and enabling patients to remain at home and avoid hospital admission. The post holder will have close liaison with the Aberdeenshire discharge hub based in ARI and the OT in reach service aligned to this. 

This peripatetic post will be based within a well-established Occupational Therapy team in Deeside, which covers the community hospitals in Banchory and Aboyne, as well as community rehab services. The post holder will be based at Torphins Health Centre, but will be expected to see patients throughout the teams’ catchment area in Deeside. 

Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working is essential for seamless community care, thus the post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills; an ability to work independently and autonomously; be comfortable with decision making, and all in a timely manner.  

Supervision and allocation of work to an OT support worker and training of students are integral parts of the job, as is service development within the area and the Health and Social Care Partnership Teams.

A full clean UK driving licence/access to a car are essential for this post.
