The Post:
We are looking to appoint Heads of Service in either Data and Digital Innovation Directorate or the Clinical and Protecting Health Directorate. The posts may include the following areas of work:
- Digital Strategy & Product Development - to develop lead the development and implementation of Public Health Scotland’s digital and data strategy
- Information Delivery - to develop and lead on the strategic information needs to support Public Health Scotland’s priorities
- Scottish Vaccination and Immunisation Programme - to establish and strategically lead the Scottish Vaccination and Immunisation Programme for Scotland
- Clinical and Protecting Health - responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction and policy of C&PH Directorate to ensure it is in line with PHS strategy
You will be joining a senior team, working to effect change to improve outcomes for people in communities and to develop and enable a Public Health Scotland culture with a focus on impact and solutions.
The Candidate:
You will be a very experienced manager who has already worked at a senior level within a large, complex organisation. You will have a track record of working with a variety of stakeholders including NHS Boards, Local Authorities, to deliver and embed real change within an organisation and across organisational boundaries. You will have vision and imagination and will be change, action and results oriented.
The post-holders should have expert specialist knowledge in one of the areas outlined which will have been acquired through degree level education, with an appropriate, relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
The posts will report directly to either the Director of Data and Digital Innovation or Director of Public Health Sciences and Medical Director.
Location and Working Pattern:
The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Meridian Court, Glasgow. Public Health Scotland operate a hybrid model, working both at home and in the office.
Applicants on any working pattern, between Monday to Friday, are welcome to apply for this post though it will be important that the candidate is able to attend key meetings and Committees.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
