The Community Respiratory Team (CRT) is a multidisciplinary team that aims to support the vulnerable COPD population of Glasgow City and serves over 140 General Practices for a population with a COPD incidence of more than 1.5 times the National average (Scot.PHO, 2018/19-2020/21). The team are effective in preventing hospital admission and supporting early hospital discharge for COPD patients, and providing effective coordination and support to patients with this long-term condition.  The Team Lead role has both professional leadership and operational management responsibilities for the CRT. The post holder has lead responsibility for direct operational management e.g. for staff wellbeing, sickness absence management, recruitment and selection, professional development of staff, departmental workload monitoring and workforce planning. The Team lead role is integral to ensuring the smooth running of the team and maintains the clinical and care governance/ quality assurance of the service. In addition, coordination, supervision, assessing and mitigating risk, and containment of the team are a key function of the role, as well as providing expert clinical support.  The post provides professional leadership and advice to all disciplines (with appropriate support from MD professional leads) within area of responsibility.  The Team Lead liaises and maintain effective relationships and communication with key stakeholders including secondary care, GPs, Respiratory Consultants, Practice Nurses, SASS, Hospital at Home, Social work and partners across Scotland and other agencies (Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland). The Team Lead has an integral role in managing change and supporting service improvement and development in a continuous cycle.  This leadership role contributes to the effectiveness of the HSCP through ensuring the CRT delivers effective, evidence-based and innovative clinical services, and contributes to the strategic direction of ambulatory respiratory services (nationally and locally) and helps to inform national best practice.

You should have a Degree or diploma leading to Physiotherapy HCPC registration, or Registered Nurse and ​​​​​​​Current HCPC or NMC registration.
