We require enthusiastic, self-motivated and innovative General Practice Pharmacy Technicians to develop and support the delivery of the Scottish Government funded Pharmacotherapy Service within GP Practices in NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
You will use and develop your expertise working as part of a multidisciplinary practice team in conjunction with the Primary Care General Practice Clinical Pharmacists. As part of developing the role of the pharmacy technician, the role also involves supporting the work of the MUU Team developments in prescribing software, databases, electronic formularies, supporting technician reviews, specials monitoring etc.
You will have good understanding of medicines (either through qualification or demonstrable experience), IT skills and communication skills, to work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team. The post requires some clinical knowledge, good communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to work with patients and other healthcare professionals.
You will be a qualified pharmacy technician with SQA National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and SVQ level 3 – Pharmacy Services, or have an equivalent qualification. You should hold membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council if you are a registered pharmacy technician. Additionally you should demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
In future, in accordance with Agenda for Change terms and conditions, you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
The post requires full PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland.
A driving licence/ access to a vehicle is essential for this post.
