Job Advert
NHS HIGHLAND
TONGUE MEDICAL PRACTICE
Full Time, Permanent Positions - 40 hours per week
Salary scale £87,431 to £98,555 per annum
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a small team of Rural GP’s providing excellent primary care services to the active and resilient community of Tongue. This remote and rural practice is located on West Sutherland, offering stunning highland scenery, along with diverse wildlife.
The current practice population is 550, which can increase slightly due to tourism throughout the year. There are links to the other salaried practices in the locality (Armadale, Durness, Scourie and Kinlochbervie) and increasingly with the wider NHS Highland salaried practice network. The Health Centre is within a traditional building with a dispensary; Receptionist/Dispensers; a Practice Manager and a number of visiting clinicians and support services.
The practice offers in hours services only with Out of Hours being provided by NHS Highland Out of Hours Team. Due to the rurality of the practice there is a requirement to undertake the PHEC course.
There is a North Coast redesign project underway with plans for a new build, integrated care facility over the next few years. This will see the practice facilities operating from this site with closer working relationships with the wider integrated and care home teams.
The successful candidate will have a remarkable opportunity to be part of this innovative and exciting new model of rural healthcare as it moves forward.
Enquiries would be welcomed by Aileen Cuthbert, Primary Care Manager, aileen.cuthbert@nhs.scot
