This is a fixed term post of 1 year.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm,  occasional weekend and out of hours working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to be part of the Hepatitis C Nurse Specialist Service within Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service. The service delivers on the prevention agenda through working in a range of settings to support treatment of Hepatitis C. The service supports individuals across Inverclyde and Renfrewshire from a number of back grounds working in partnership with acute hospitals, ADRS, GPs and Prisons.

The post holder will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team working in partnership demonstrating compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) Hepatitis C Clinical Nurse Service. 

The post holder as directed supported and supervised by the Hepatitis C Clinical Nurse Specialist, will be responsible for contributing to the care and support of individuals within the Hepatitis C Service and Inverclyde ADRS (when required). The post-holder will provide care and support as part of an agreed plan of care which involves the use of a strength based recovery focused approach to care that proactively involves the person and optimises self-management.

The post holder is required to be able to undertake duties as delegated by the Hepatitis C Clinical Nurse Specialist, working in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies. This involves working in a variety of community, home/ near to home, prison, outpatient clinics and hospital environments.

It is essential the post holder has a working knowledge of health issues and nursing care. It is desirable they are educated to or currently working towards SVQ3 / SCQF level 6 and has completion of a health / mental health / social care programme or equivalent.
