An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Mental Health Nurses to become part of our evolving Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife. The post holders would be based at Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Applications for these posts are invited from experienced RMNs, who are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills gained from experience working with older adults in the mental health service. We are seeking confident Nurses with a positive, pro-active approach who can inspire and lead within the wider team. You will be resilient, enthusiastic and committed to working with older adults and their carer(s) to provide strength based, person centred assessment, care and treatment.
The successful applicants will be self motivated with a desire to be part of a progressive, innovative Older Adult CMHT. You will be committed to partnership working within the MDT and establishing strong working relationships with primary and secondary care services including third sector and voluntary organisations. It is essential that you have experience of team working, problem solving and risk management. You should also have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills and evidence of continuing personal development.
The post holders will have day to day responsibility for managing a caseload and supporting/developing junior staff. You will work collaboratively to provide holistic assessment, treatment and care planning for older adults experiencing mental health difficulties in the community through a blended approach, which includes home visits, clinics and telephone/digital as appropriate.
You will receive a comprehensive induction, clinical/caseload supervision and supportive educational/personal development, which includes protected learning time. These posts will also provide opportunities to contribute and shape the development of the role within the evolving CMHT.
The service operates mainly within office hours Monday to Friday, however there is a service need at times to provide input to people more acutely unwell/with complex needs over the weekend. A planned rota will be in place for weekend working, therefore you may be required to an occasional weekend to support service delivery.
