The MEMS (Medical Equipment Management Service) at NHS Grampian currently has a vacancy for a Band 6 Specialist Medical Electronics Technician and are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced electronics technician to join a small team of 12 specialised in servicing, maintaining and managing a range of specialist medical equipment used in clinical areas throughout Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the surrounding hospitals and GP Practices.
You will have a UK accredited Degree or equivalent experience in electrical/electronic engineering and be able to clearly demonstrate post qualification technical training and experience in the support of a broad range of electronic medical equipment, although specific training on a range of medical devices will be provided. High personal integrity and sympathetic people skills, with the ability to fit in and perform as part of a small team providing technical support to critical care and other clinical areas are essential.
The base for the post-holder will be in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, although the post-holder will be expected to carry out their duties across related Health Board sites as necessary. Driving license is therefore essential.
Applicants with related electronics knowledge, skills and equipment training, but insufficient NHS experience may be considered for employment initially at a lower band pending satisfactory further training and experience.
