The Practitioner and Counter Fraud Services unit of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) is looking for two Payments/PV Leads to join its Contractor Finance Team.
The Post:
The post holder will play a key role in management of Payment services within contractor finance. The role will encompass the checking, validating, and authorizing accurate payments to contractors on behalf of the NHS Health Boards, as well as providing support to the payment team with regards to complex financial queries. The post holder will also manage the payment coordinators to assist in the delivery of the monthly practice payments and to ensure all audit control requirements are being met. The post holder will report directly to the National Finance Manager but will have additional support from payment coordinators. The post holder will have a large degree of freedom to manage their own workload within the cycle of the monthly payment run and will liaise with the National Finance Manager to identify the key issues to be addressed.
The Candidate:
The post holder will be self-motivated, numerate, and willing to take the initiative to design new solutions to complex problems and working processes, they will be able to deal with sensitive issues in a confidential manner and a team player with the ability to work independently.
They will be educated to degree level with significant experience of Microsoft Office applications specifically excel. Experience of using financial software would be a benefit but is not essential as training will be provided. They will also be skilled in financial modeling and analysis. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Meridian Court, Glasgow.
However, it should be noted that NSS is currently in the process of relocating from Meridian Court to nearby Delta House, 50 West Nile Street Glasgow G1 2NP.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
