We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our adult weight management and diabetes prevention team based within the Weight Management service. The post is based at North West Kilmarnock Area Centre but travel across all areas of Ayrshire and Arran will be required to deliver the service.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team focusing on the prevention, early detection and early intervention of Type 2 Diabetes and wider weight management programmes.
This post offers an opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to work collaboratively across and within partnerships in Ayrshire designing, delivering and evaluating diabetes prevention and weight management consultations, education sessions, developing evidence based resources and using digital solutions including social media to reach target populations.
You will also work to support a diverse range of organisations including NHS, Local authority, third sector and football clubs delivering, “weigh-to-go” and be part of the wider team offering training and mentoring.
The Department provides training to A, B and C placement students and offers clinical supervision.
You should possess an Honors degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Experience in weight management, diabetes or community dietetics and experience of delivering group education is essential. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential e.g. excellent interpersonal skills, excellent team working and working knowledge of social media platforms.
