This is an exciting new opportunity for a Band 6 Clinical Art Therapy full-time post within Renfrewshire CAMHS.  Renfrewshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides a service to meet the mental health needs of children and young people (CYP) in partnership with their families and carer’s. The care pathway ensures close community contact, working in partnership and collaboration with statutory services, third sector and voluntary organisations.  The successful post-holder will be welcomed to join an established, dynamic and diverse multi-disciplinary team delivering effective evidence based-care. The post holder will contribute to delivering excellence, timely and innovative care to service users. Focus will be on the provision of Art Therapy to improve the mental health, psychological and emotional well-being of service-users experiencing complex mental health difficulties who struggle to access or make use of verbal therapies.  The post holder will hold an MA, MSc or equivalent Art Therapy qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and essential registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues and as an autonomous practitioner to plan and provide an Art Therapy service for children and adolescents with diverse and complex needs. As Clinical Art Therapist, you will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and ongoing evaluation of evidence-based and psychologically informed Art Therapy in delivering a person-centred service. You will demonstrate a high level of complex clinical decision making underpinned by highly developed specialist knowledge, theory and experience. You will have responsibility for an identified caseload, providing individual and group Art Therapy to children and adolescents with mental health difficulties in Tier 3 Community Services. The post-holder will respond to referrals and contribute to the global understanding of a service-user’s needs through assessment and consultation, while developing competencies to undertake generic CAMHS clinical and team duties.   This is an exciting time to be joining a developing Art Therapy service within Renfrewshire CAMHS and as such, the successful post-holder will be involved in the development and evaluation of this service while contributing to furthering knowledge of and within the Art Therapy profession.
