Wellbeing Service Co-ordinator
The Wellbeing Service provides programmes of support to clients to enable them to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing across presenting issues which may include:
- Smoking cessation
- Support for improved lifestyle
- Addressing mild anxiety and depression
The Wellbeing Service aims to reduce health inequalities and improve the wellbeing of people living in Scottish Borders. This post contributes to prevention and early intervention of ill-health through leadership and effective day-to-day management of locality teams of Wellbeing Advisors.
The successful applicant will be Service Lead for smoking cessation (including attendance at national meetings and implementing new pharmacological guidelines, supporting best practice in pharmacy and participation in relevant multi-agency groups e.g. Tobacco Control Action Plan Group). They will interpret national strategies, policies and reports, and utilise research findings in order to influence smoking cessation actions at a local level. They will also provide expertise to develop and/or commission training for a wide range of colleagues (e.g. pharmacists, colleagues in primary care) in smoking cessation and health behaviour change.
The successful applicant will have a degree in health improvement or other relevant area e.g. health care, social work or have relevant professional experience in health improvement.
