Speech and Language Therapy Service
Acute Sector
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
NHS Grampian
Band 5/6 Speech and Language Therapist (F/T)
Band 6 (£35,522 - £43,286 per annum)
Band 5 (£28,384 - £35,365 per annum)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our established and supportive Acute Sector Adult Team.
The post-holder will join our band 5/6 rotation, working with adults presenting with a range of acquired speech, language, communication and / or eating, drinking and swallowing problems, across a broad spectrum of specialties within the acute setting. This will involve rotations into different teams within the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Speech and Language Therapy service.
The service has regular meetings and CPD sessions and a mentor system is in operation. Support and supervision will be available from senior specialist colleagues.
In this post there is a strong emphasis on assessing and managing dysphagia, but full training and development will be provided if required.
This presents a good opportunity for a new graduate or therapist less experienced in the acute setting to join our service at band 5 and develop knowledge and skills in a variety of acute specialities, progressing towards the band 6 level. We would also welcome applications from more experienced therapists seeking to join our rotation programme at band 6.
