The NHS Reserves were developed in November 2022 to provide an additional relief workforce to support Care Homes, Care at Home and Day Care Services, which experience significant staffing challenges in-house and within the independent sector.
This post is responsible for providing co-ordination, management and leadership support to service users and to care staff to meet the needs of older people in a residential care setting or Care at Home services; providing assistance with key tasks which maintain and promote the independence for people in their own homes, as required by legislation.
The Reserves will be made up of predominately band 3 social care team members and will be closely supported by a Registered Manager, as well as benefitting from the input of the wider NHSH Team. A specific induction will be provided. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided to all staff at all times.
Recruitment to this team will be a fixed term contract for 6 months with a guaranteed 37.5 hours per week. Reservists will be deployed across Highland – and accommodation will be provided if required.
In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of experience in dealing with vulnerable adults, especially older people, preferably in a caring capacity. Applicant must have good communication skills – both verbally and in writing. an SVQ Level 3 in Care, or a willingness and ability to work towards these qualifications within an agreed time scale. You will be required to work flexibly in order to meet service requirements.
A driving licence is essential for this post and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
