Secondment Opportunity

A brand new post has been developed by Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP). The ADP is seeking to recruit a Band 7 Lead Officer for Alcohol Deaths Prevention for a period of one year. This post has been developed in response to the rising number of alcohol related deaths across the area. The post-holder will provide a dedicated resource for Renfrewshire and will lead in the development, co-ordination, delivery and monitoring of the ADP Alcohol Deaths Action Plan.  The post-holder will deliver responses and innovations to prevent alcohol deaths and this will be achieved by working collaboratively with key partners as part of the ADP Alcohol Deaths Action Group.  An important aspect of the post will be to lead in the investigation of alcohol related deaths in Renfrewshire and to identity trends, risk factors and areas of focus for prevention.

The post-holder must be passionate and highly motivated who will have a key role in delivering the ADP strategic framework. The post-holder must be educated to degree level with significant experience working in this field. Experience working at a strategic level is desirable. Specialist knowledge and understanding of national policies pertaining to alcohol is essential along with an in-depth understanding of evidence based practice utilising evaluation and research. Excellent IT and communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive information in a clear concise manner, both written and verbally, is also essential.
