NHS Lanarkshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are recruiting a Specialist Clinical Psychologist to support and contribute to the exciting development of the Specialist Eating Disorder Team within the service.
The service aims to support children, young people and their families that require specialist intervention relating to an eating disorder allowing access to services and support at the earliest opportunity. Most service users will have a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa. In addition, service users may have other mental health needs, such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder or autistic spectrum disorder.
The post holder will provide individual and family treatments for service users. Furthermore, there will be opportunity to conduct service evaluation or research projects relevant to the eating disorder team. This post is a great opportunity to be part of a transforming service. Previous experience working with eating disorders is desirable but not required as the candidate will receive relevant training in the role.
Lanarkshire CAMHS clinicians receive regular clinical and operational supervision and supportive line management, including job planning.

The post holder is required to
- Have a First Class Honours or Upper second Class degree in Psychology that provides eligibility for graduate basis for registration with British Psychological Society.
- Have an accredited postgraduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology to meet the requirements for eligibility to register as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and as a member of the Health and Care Professions Council. Once registered as a member of the HCPC, the post holder should maintain registration. These qualifications confer an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of theoretical models and working practices.
- Evidence significant post qualification experience of working with children and young people with psychological problems and their families.
- Evidence training in and experience of, supervising doctoral Clinical Psychology trainees and trainee Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology.
- Evidence ongoing professional development activities as required to continue practising as a Clinical Psychologist, including clinical supervision and further specialist courses and training.
